The idea for The Pile Bookstore was born after an evening book swap in the Ravenswood neighborhood of Chicago (shoutout to Koval Distillery). The night was filled with books and readers, suggestions and reviews, and our own stories about what the books we brought meant to us. There was a sense of community and camaraderie between these book lovers that made for easy conversations and instant friends.

The main mission of The Pile Bookstore is to replicate that feeling for our community. Come in for a book, stay for a game, connect over your favorite stories with friends new and old. Try something new with one of our three book clubs, or find an old favorite among our selection of new and used titles. We have something for everyone and can’t wait to share our recommendations and love of books!
